Hello! I’m Eric Green, Ph.D.
Serves as the executive director at Better Options Initiative. He is also a part-time faculty associate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education in Baltimore, MD, where he teaches and conducts research in child psychotherapy with complexly traumatized youth. Recently, he served as associate professor and program administrator in Counseling and Development at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. Dr. Green’s authored 50+ peer-reviewed/scholarly publications centering on the effects of play therapy, sandplay, and expressive arts with children affected by trauma. He is the author and co-editor of several recent books, including, “The Handbook of Jungian Play Therapy,” “No Child Forgotten,” “Integrating Expressive Arts and Play Therapy,” and “Counseling Families.” His mental health work with children affected by natural disasters was featured in CNN’s hour-long television documentary, “Children of the Storm.” Dr. Green is a regularly invited keynote speaker at mental health conferences and workshops around the US and internationally, with recent speaking engagements in Australia, Mexico, Hawaii, and Canada. He maintains a part-time private practice in child psychotherapy in Lafayette, LA.
